I’ve been wanting to file a vacation leave ever since I started working. But, since I’m enjoying my work so much, I never really want to miss a day in the office. So, I’ve been working 5 days a week, 8 hours a day for the past 7 months.
For being *quite* hardworking, I deserve a break. When our team leader asked us to submit our vacation leave requests, I immediately made up a reason- SOUL SEARCHING. My 2-day vacation request was approved and I have another 2-rest day to enjoy.
What’s in my journal?
Today, I woke up to the sound of my parent’s voice. The sound of the boiling water and the hustle and bustle of noise outside the house. It’s a Friday morning and everyone’s ready to end their work or school week. I, on the other hand, is currently rolling in bed and contemplating the meaning of life. I’m wondering what to do and where to go. I don’t feel lost but I want to get lost. I want to go to a place I’ve never been and do things I’ve never done before.
I headed to the Grand Terminal and carried my overpacked stuff. I don’t have any idea where I’m going but I know where I want to be.
I rode the bus going to Real and I didn’t know that the long trip is longer than expected. More than half the journey, I started to feel dizzy. I even started asking myself if I really want to do this? And the only answer that echoed in my mind is, “Yes! Of course!”
How to get there?
- Ride a bus from Lucena Grand Terminal bound to Infanta- 126 PHP (Alight in Brgy. Mapalad, Real, Quezon) and don’t forget to tell the conductor to advise once you’re near Brgy. Mapalad
- Ride a tricycle going to the beach of your choice-150 PHP per trip (You can text or call Kuya Leo-09106382480)
Where to stay?
I opt to stay in Mapalad Beach Resort (just beside Real Coast and Surf) because I want some alone time. Since I’m on my own, I chose to stay in a tent. I spent 500 PHP for a 24-hour tent pitching, tent rental, and resort entrance. For the price, I get to spend the night in a tent big enough to accommodate 4 campers and backpacks.
Since Real is known for the huge waves, I made sure that I’ll learn how to surf. Thus, in the second half of my stay in Real, Quezon, I tried surfing for the first time.
Renz was the one who taught me how to surf. You can learn how to surf for 500 PHP for an hour of surfing lessons and surfboard rental. I really enjoyed surfing I end up extending for another hour.
Have you tried surfing in Real, Quezon?
